Hi everyone!
Well, I enjoyed myself so much this past year I've decided to return to island life this coming fall =) As of right now, it looks like I will only be staying until Christmas which will be nice since even though I'm no longer used to the cold, I definitely miss the holiday season here at home. This time around I will be on Pohnpei (not Chuuk sadly!) doing research and field work for the Micronesian Seminar organization. The details are a bit hazy so far, so I'll have to write a more descriptive blog when I actually arrive and get settled. I haven't necessarily retired from the wonderful world of teaching though - the local high school seems to have a pretty urgent need for instructors so I might do that as well. It may prove to be an expensive year for me though since I think both positions are strictly volunteer... but we'll see.
Even though I'll miss Chuuk, I am looking forward to some of Pohnpei's luxuries (which I actually didn't regard as such the first time around). I'll have much better internet and connection to the Western world in general: newspapers, television, phone service, etc. Here's all my updated contact info!!
